I have an ak 47 airsoft gun and i need it repaired i will take it in heres whats wrong with it in the details?

the rear sight is broken off the magazine release is broken the but plate is missing the buttstock is missing 2 screws and 3 spacers the orange tip lock is broke so the Front Sight is wobbly its missing a battery and a charger and im not sure if it works anymore so it needs a checkup. how much will this cost?

It needs a bit more than a checkup – that poor gun sounds like it was run over by a car!

Replacing all those broken parts won’t be cheap – not to mention the battery and charger.

Unless it’s an expensive gun (TM or something of that price range) you’re probably as well of to buy a new one altogether.

Will it hurt my S&W 357 #686 if I dry fire? Should I use snap caps?

I’ve read you can damage the firing pin by dry firing. Is this true for new handguns or just older models?

My opinion is that it might hurt you if you dry fire without using snap caps
Let me explain.
We are creatures of habit and patterns.

For safety purposes you should always think a firearm is always loaded and treat it as such. So you should never pull the trigger on the firearm unless you absolutely know its status and where you are aiming it. The procedure of “loading” your weapon with an appropriate dry-fire cap and treating it exactly like a live round will keep your mind and any one else around you in the knowledge that you are treating the subject seriously.

This way you are absolutely ensuring that you have full control of the fire arm.

Dry firing with an empty chamber can do excess wear and tear on a system that is intending to strike a round. The weapon is designed to fire bullets not an empty chamber.

Dry firing with an empty chamber can lead to the path of laziness where someone could think they are pulling the trigger on an unloaded weapon when it could be loaded , leading to potentially disastrous results.

Do you and your firearm a favor. Dry Fire only when you have gone through the appropriate safe weapon handling procedures and consciously go through the appropriate dry fire round loading procedure. Do this only after you have consulted with your local gunsmith. ( Apologies for the excess details, but this is an open forum and no one reading this thread should treat the topic of dry firing a weapon under any circumstances as a casual topic. Better Safe than sorry!)

How do I remove a stuck needle from my sewing machine?

I have to change the needle on my Brother XR-65 and it will not come out. I followed the instructions in my manual and loosened the needle clamp screw, but the needle will not come out. I tried using pliers, but don’t want to damage my machine. Is there anything I can do?

The two problems are probably not related. Most likely. Anyway, to get the needle out, you might want to use a little oil, just a little. Be sure the machine is unplugged, just to be safest. If you don’t have regular sewing machine oil or all-purpose household oil — like you’d use on a door hinge or a bike chain — you can use WD40 or something like it. Give just a little squirt on the part where the needle is stuck. Let it set for a few minutes. Then use your pliers again. You may as well dust out and oil the rest of the machine (read the owner’s manual to see where the oil goes, if you don’t know) while you’re waiting.

As to the straight stitch only problem, if the oil doesn’t help, contact a repair shop. If your machine has a sequence you need to follow to change from straight to other stitches, be sure you are correctly following this sequence. (I had one once that needed dial A set to 3 before dial B could be set to select a new stitch. Friends who borrowed it regularly told me it wouldn’t change stitches because they hadn’t listened well enough to remember it when I told them how to do it.)
