You usually lift the bolt, pull back, push forward, and the flip it down. A four-action motion. It’s a really fun thing to do. Definitely better than just pulling a lever back and pushing it back. TFCC tear and Broken Ulna?

hello, my name is Skyler. I am 17 years old..and back in october 2008 i took a fall riding motocross. back then they said i broke my radius and casted me. now, february 2010, it was still hurting so i went back in. x rays and mri show the TFCC is torn and the end of my ulna has been broken off for over the passed year. my doc says they have to scope and repair the tear then cut in and put a pin through my unla to hold it all together. now my question is. has anyone ever had this particular surgery? how was the recovering period? (im very active: hunting, fishing, snowboarding, moto, ect..) also, ive heard that many surgeries make it worse. i am planning on going into the military once this gets healed up (already went to MEPS). so would this surgery be the best bet? or just deal with it like i have been? any info or advice would be greatly appreciated..thankyou

If the bone was going to heal, it would have healed by about January last year! You will have pretty much guaranteed early-onset arthritis in your wrist if you leave it like it is.
I had a scope for another wrist problem (not as severe as yours) in June 2007, and although it took a good few months and a bit of rehab to get everything moving and strong again, it has been well worth it.

Get a good hand surgeon to do the surgery, then see a hand therapist (PT). Do what you’re told and be patient, and all going well you’ll have a much better wrist and hand that you could actually use in the military.
