Which type of gas airsoft pistol is better: Green/Red gas, CO2?

I’m looking to buy a gas pistol and I’m not sure which to buy. I want at least 370 FPS because I don’t play CQB.

Green gas/propane is the weakest, but easiest to maintain. Red gas/Freon22 is more powerful, and requires extra care, as it puts more stress on the airsoft gun. CO2 tops the three in terms of strength, and requires a Full Metal airsoft gun with reinforced internals if you’re running it in a GBB. To run propane, you simply need a quality metal slide, red gas stronger internals and externals.

For 370, you’re going to have to go with CO2. We need a budget to make suggestions.

Please explain the difference between Recoil, Gas, and Blow back operation mechanisms for loading firearms.?

Particularly gas and blow back sound the same to me. dont the both use expanding gases to cycle the chamber? how exactly does recoil operation work, etc.

recoil operation system is what the 1911 hand gun uses. it has locking lugs but only uses the recoil to work a small cam to dis-engage the locking lugs and push the bolt back ejecting the round and loading the next one. this is only good of low presser cartages and is often confused with blow back operating.

blow back is what most simi auto .22 use. it has no locking lugs. it is just a spring behind the bolt. when the gun fires the bolt is pushed back as the bullet is pushed foreword. it is the least accurate and only suitable for low presser cartages.

gas operation works like a bolt action rifle. there is a small hole at the end of the barrel that the gas goes through and in to a cylinder where it pushes a piston that drives an op-rod. with a cam the op-rod turns the bold as it moves back. then the bolt stops turning the bold moves back with the op-rod.

the ar15/m16 rifles dont have an op-rod. it has a Gas Tube that feeds the gas right into the bolt. so the bolt its self works as the op-rod. when the gun is kept clean this works better and with fewer parts.

If you play CQB, we can eliminate the top two immediately, and just go with the G36C.
The G3A3 is a good DMR base, and is about on par with the AK-47 when both are left stock. The G36C isn’t quite as accurate, and is less user friendly than the AK-47, but more so than the G3A3. Seems a bit uncomfortable to hold without cover or item placed on the lower rail.

If you’re in the field, and don’t plan on making any modifications to the rifles, get the G3A3 or AK-47, whichever you like the look of more, or the AK-47 is you plan on slapping things on it.

The G36K is a carbine, and I’m assuming you just made a typo instead of linking to the wrong AEG. If you did link to the incorrect item:

Does a tacstar universal barrel shroud (heat shield) fit a mossberg 500a persuader?

I would like to know if it is difficult to fit on this particular shotgun. Also i would like to know if it starts to loosen after some shots? My shotgun is a Mossberg 500a persuader 20in barrel with blue finish. Does it look good on this gun?? Thx

Fits perfectly. It’s a five minute install job. I have them on three guns here.

They *can* slide without the barrel attach point to block them….you know what I mean….but you can prevent that with a couple of inches of electrical tape wrapped around the barrel right where you snug your screws down on the shroud. Tighten them up tight over the tape. It stays put. Barrel mounted rail mounts take tape the same way.

I have to say, they’re probably useful for heat shielding to *some* folks….I have never fired enough rounds fast enough through a shotgun that it mattered….but I love the look.
