Archery question- Compound Bow?

I am a newbie to archery and I tried to change my draw weight to something lower as 60 lb draw weight is a little much for me. I turned the both bolts about one full turn counter clockwise to loosen it. Now I see there is a little space there? is it suppose to be like that. I dont want my bow to fall apart on me.

So, assuming for a moment that your bow was close to full draw weight at 60 pounds, then yep, that’s normal. If you still have the manual for your bow it will actually tell you how many turns you can take it down.

Depending on how you got your bow (mail order vs. through a shop) it may be worth taking it to a shop that will let you shoot it through paper to see if it is still tillered correctly. (meaning the top and bottom limbs are pulling on the arrow the same) It isn’t a big deal if they are a little out of a adjustment, it just makes the arrow wobble in the air. It does effect accuracy and speed some as well, but it’s not that sensitive.

If you bought the bow in a decent archery shop they should have tuned it for you, so as long as you do the same number of turns top and bottom you’ll be fine.
