What kind of ammunition can you use at the range?

Can you use hollow points? or do you have to use wad cutters and semi wadcutters and Full Metal jackets?

Indoor ranges usually require that you use some sort of jacketed bullet. The reason for this is because they don’t want the extra lead flying around the range, posing a health hazard. Of course, indoor ranges these days are covered by a number of OSHA safefy rules. If you shoot on an indoor range, you will hear the constant drone of the ventilation system.

Most outdoor ranges (gun clubs) will have no restrictions on the types of ammo that you use. Full metal jackets, hollow points, all lead, steel core, whatever. But, they have have rules regarding what targets you can shoot at with what ammunition.
