what’s the average pull weight for a target competition recurve bow?
i wanna do competitive target shooting with a recurve bow. what is usually the average pull weight for a bow like that? and aluminum or carbon arrows? feathers or vanes?
by the way i’m a 16 year old male. don’t know if that changes anything
It’s really according to what competition your going to enter.
In 3-d tournaments I would the guess the average to be in the neighborhood of 50 pounds. I’ve seen younger competitors use 35-40 pound bows.
In Olympic competition the average draw weight of a man’s bow is 50 pounds. The females bows average around 35pounds.
Some competitions have restrictions on arrow type and type or amount of fletching ( ie: feathers, vanes..)
